Autochromes Lumière

In 1898, Gabriel Veyre, cinematographic operator for the Lumière brothers, undertook a tour of the world to present their latest works in colour photography. Each of his presentations was followed by the projection of a series of images. The public was astounded  "by the beauty and the truth of their colours."
